4Kly is a native macOS application that enables users to download videos from various online platforms for personal, offline viewing. We offer two versions:
- 4Kly Free: Open-source version with basic features, available on GitHub
- 4Kly Pro: Premium version with advanced features, available for a one-time purchase of $19.99
Important: 4Kly is a tool. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the app complies with applicable laws and the terms of service of the platforms you download from.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use 4Kly only for:
- Downloading content you have the legal right to download
- Personal, non-commercial use
- Content that you own or have permission to download
- Content available under licenses that permit downloading (e.g., Creative Commons)
You agree not to use 4Kly for:
- Downloading copyrighted content without authorization
- Circumventing technological protection measures
- Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Commercial redistribution of downloaded content
- Any purpose that infringes on the rights of content creators
Intellectual Property
Our Software
The 4Kly application, including its code, design, and branding, is the intellectual property of 4Kly. The free version is open-source and available under its respective license on GitHub. The Pro version is proprietary software licensed to you upon purchase.
Third-Party Content
4Kly does not host, store, or own any of the video content you download. All downloaded content remains the property of its respective copyright holders. We are not responsible for any content accessed through our application.
Purchase and License
When you purchase 4Kly Pro:
- You receive a perpetual, non-transferable license to use the software
- The license is for personal use on devices you own
- You may re-download the software at any time using your original purchase email
- You may not share, resell, or distribute your license

Disclaimer of Warranties
4Kly is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

We do not guarantee that 4Kly will work with all video platforms or that it will continue to work if those platforms change their systems.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 4Kly and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use, arising from or related to your use of the software.
In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for 4Kly Pro ($19.99).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 4Kly and its creators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the software or violation of these terms.
Third-Party Dependencies
4Kly uses open-source components including yt-dlp and ffmpeg. These components are subject to their own licenses. We are not responsible for any issues arising from these third-party components.
Updates and Changes
We may update the 4Kly software to add features, fix bugs, or maintain compatibility. Pro users receive automatic updates. We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our services for any user who violates these terms or engages in fraudulent activity.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
